Description

The Department of Pathology offers a one to two year accredited fellowship program in hematopathology that includes both diagnostic and investigative hematopathology. The program is designed to give the fellow in depth experience in the broad spectrum of hematopathology including laboratory hematology, body fluid evaluation, detection and characterization of hemoglobinopathies, blood and bone marrow biopsy interpretation, and lymph node pathology. The fellow will gain experience in the techniques and application of flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and molecular diagnostic testing. The fellowship also includes exposure to coagulation and cytogenetics. The fellow is expected to participate in translational research projects in collaboration with the hematopathology staff. The research experience would be more in depth in a two-year program.

Requirements

The candidate must be Board eligible or certified in either clinical pathology or clinical and anatomic pathology; combined training is preferred.
