The Cook County Medical Examiner's OfficePathology residents at NMH rotate at the Cook County Medical Examiner's (ME) Office to receive training in forensic pathology. Information at the ME's office indicates that more than 18,000 deaths are reported to their office annually. Six thousand of the reported deaths are accepted for investigation.
